Hello! My name is McFlanery. I would like to tell you a little about myself. I am a new guy at the sanctuary. I am feline leukemia positive, FIV positive, and I have FIA (feline infectious Anemia). I also have heart disease. I came from another rescue that was unable to find a forever home for me because of my positive status. The rescue reached out to the sanctuary and asked if I could spend whatever time I had left at the sanctuary. Things weren’t easy at first. When I first came to the sanctuary vet, I was hospitalized. I am a sick kitty, and they wanted to get to the bottom of it. They thought I had lymphoma! Thankfully, tests showed that it is unlikely. I was able to come to the sanctuary, and it is great here. I get lots of cuddles and love. I even have my choice of beds! I am the sweetest boy, and soaking up the attention is what I love most. I am on medication for my severe infection, but I need an echocardiogram to make sure that another medication is safe for me to take. I need the medication, but if it is unsafe for me, it could hurt my heart. An echocardiogram will also tell if I need medication for my heart. While things looked grim at first, it looks like I will be just fine with treatment, medications, and most of all love! I am so happy here. Finally, I have a place to call home.
